The Liebster Award 4.0

Liebster Award

Alright, and we are back with another award- our fourth Liebster award! Thank you so much to Debby from DebbySEO for this nomination. While I usually don’t participate in awards I’ve already received, I seriously liked the way she’s changed it to make it more special, and so here we go.

  4. Answer the 11 questions the blogger(s) asked you
  5. Nominate 11 bloggers and make them happy!
  6. Make up 11 questions to ask your nominees
  7. Notify your 11 nominees

Answers to Debby’s questions

1) What is in your opinion the best SEO software currently on the market? If you haven’t used SEO software, how informed are you about SEO services and software? Likely Moz.com’s features or Ubersuggest. I have used both and they are fantastic for learning about SEO. The best paid software, however, is the “Yoast SEO” plugin.

2) If you could eat as much food as you wanted without ever getting full or fat, which food would you choose? What is your favorite restaurant? American food, because there’s a lot of variety. My favorite American restaurant is Wendy’s or Cracker Barrel.

3) If your pet could talk, what would it say to you? She’d probably say, “why did you never want to be my friend?” I dislike guinea pigs, so I don’t usually pet them.

4) What is the weirdest thing you have ever seen someone do? I once saw a random girl dancing….innapropriately in front of a crowd of five-year-old children for a fundraiser in Uganda.

5) If you had enough money that you never needed to work again, what would you do with your time? Probably spend most of it playing basketball, although reading is also tempting.

6) Name three of your favorite songs. “Armies” by KB, “Paid My Dues” by NF, and “Set Me Free” by Lecrae.

7) Name three of your favorite books. “Lord of the Rings”, “Ender’s Game”, and “Sherlock Holmes”.

8) Would you lie to your friend or spouse for a large sum of money? How much? Absolutely not. As a Christian, I am called to be honest at all times.

9) If you had $10,000 to spend on whatever you like, what would you do with the money? I’d donate $2,000 to my ministry, New Hope Uganda, and invest the rest to use when I go to college next year.

10) If you would be granted one wish of any kind, what would you wish for? Assuming I couldn’t wish for unlimited wishes, I’d ask for the greatest, most complete guide to women’s minds. With that, I’d teach men and would eventually rule the world.

11) Who has been the biggest example in your life? Why? My dad, without a doubt. He has a massive impact on my life, from the way he has taught me to the example he sets.

My 11 questions for my nominees:

1: Who’s your favorite actor/actress?

2: Do you work out? If so, describe what you do.

3: What’s your favorite dessert?

4: If you geeked out about something, what would it be?

5: What are your thoughts on the COVID-19 breakout?

6: Is social media beneficial or harmful to a teenager?

7: What is the most views you’ve had in a day (on your blog)?

8: Do you have a hobby?

9: Recall a childhood memory.

10: What high-school subject would you gladly re-take if given the chance (anad time)?

11: Favorite animal?

Sadly, since I have very little time, I can’t nominate specific people. If you would, however, like to do this EPIC award, I nominate you! You, my reader, are nominated (I know, it’s a lazy thing to do, but I don’t have the time to hunt down 11 people). Go forth and complete the award!

Alright, that’s all for today. Thanks so much for reading, and thanks to Debby for the nomination! Guys, if you enjoyed this post, make sure to click that Follow button below (or to the side). The Liebster Award 3.0

Thanks so much, Jacquie, for the nomination! Guys, make sure to check out her blog here. She is a very wise woman, and I have learned a lot by reading what she has written.

The rules are the same

  • Thank the blogger(s) who nominated you.
  • Share 11 facts about yourself.
  • Answer the 11 questions the blogger(s) asked you.
  • Nominate up to 11 bloggers and make them happy
  • Make up to 11 questions and ask them to your nominees
  • Notify your (up to) 11 nominees.

I’ve already done the first, so now on to the second!

  1. I like fantasy football.
  2. I want to go to Moody Bible Institute, Chicago.
  3. I still have all of my grandparents.
  4. My favorite fruit is jackfruit.
  5. I like the NFL- Chicago Bears
  6. I enjoy drinking coca-cola
  7. I only wear jeans once a week
  8. I am lactose intolerant
  9. I hate tomatoes
  10. Dogs are better than cats
  11. I love coaching basketball

Now onto the questions.

  1.    What would you say is the most important thing about you? Undoubtedly the fact that I love Jesus.
  2.    What is your blog about? Lots of different stuff, but most especially my life in Africa.
  3.    What inspired you to start blogging? My dad’s encouragement. When I was 13, he recognized that I had a little talent in writing, so he encouraged me to do some posts on his (then) blog. I haven’t stopped since.
  4.    If I visited your city, what would I see? Which one? I was born in Chicago, grew up in New Hope Uganda, but my parents own a house in Saint Albans, West Virginia. If you visited New Hope, Uganda, you would see a lot of children, trees, and houses, in that order. Our elementary school alone has over 400 kids! Regardless, I know you would love seeing New Hope.
  5.    A favorite author and why? J.R.R Tolkien when it comes to classics. His books are called masterpieces for a reason. My favorite current author is John Flanagan, author of the Ranger’s Apprentice series. His books inspire small, unathletic children everywhere to go out and enjoy nature.
  6.    What is something positive about your childhood? Hmm, that’s a little vague, but I grew up with a theologian dad. He’s the reason I am considering studying theology at Moody.
  7.    How would you describe God? The Father. As my Father, that is, to me, his most important characteristic, and one I feel is rather understated. Few describe or think of God as their Father. Instead, most feel he is something untouchable- too far away, not close enough to we humans. What we don’t realize is that God invites us, as Christians, into a family-type relationship with Him for the rest of our earthly and heavenly lives1
  8.    Who inspires you, either living or dead? A couple of people in list of influence. 1: My parents. 2: My grandparents. 3: Josiah Dangers- a friend of the family who’s family/work lifestyle is close to what I envision myself living someday. 4: The rappers Lecrae and NF. 5: My friends everywhere.
  9.    Do you volunteer, if so where? I am in the process of volunteering at my church’s Sunday School, and I am also volunteering to teach Chess to some of the kids at our elementary school.
  10. What brings you joy? Being with my grandparents. Because I don’t see them very often, the few moments I have with them are such a joy.
  11. Do you have someone whose life is an example of godly living? What about them draws you? My dad! He is one of the most patient, kind men I have ever met. He treats his wife, my mom, with the utmost respect and love, and has never gotten frustrated beyond what is appropriate. Out of everybody, I want to be like him the most.

Now 11 questions from me.

  1. Do you have a role model? If so, who?
  2. If you could visit the city of your choice, where would you go?
  3. What is your most fundamental belief?
  4. What’s your favorite book?
  5. Describe your hobbies.
  6. What’s your favorite holiday?
  7. Do you play an instrument?
  8. How many siblings do you have?
  9. Coffee or tea?
  10. How do you like to drink your coffee/tea
  11. Do you follow any sports?

Finally, my nominees.

The Liebster Award 2.0

We are back with another award- The Liebster Award! Yep, the same award that I did a few months ago, but this one is different. There are a few new rules, and the order has been changed. Thank you so much to the person that nominated me- Raegan! Be sure to check out her blog here. Anyway, here are the rules.

  1. Thank the blogger(s) who nominated you
  2. Share 11 facts about yourself
  3. Answer the 11 questions the blogger(s) gave you
  4. Nominate 11 bloggers that deserve the reward
  5. create 11 original questions for the nominees to answer
  6. let them know they’ve been nominated.

Ok, here are 11 facts about me. These will be simple and easy.

  1. My name is Elisha William McFarland
  2. I am 16 years young
  3. I am 6’0
  4. I live in Uganda
  5. I have lived in Uganda for 15 years
  6. I have played basketball with the grandchildren of Museveni, president of Uganda
  7. I have 5 siblings
  8. I also have a dog, 3 rabbits, 22 chickens, and an owl (it belongs to Noah, my little brother).
  9. I play lots of basketball
  10. I am a starter for our local high school basketball team
  11. I love baking

Here are the questions Raegan gave me, with my answers in bold.

1. Do You prefer to wear flip flops or gym shoes? Gym shoes. As an athlete, I end up wearing them a lot anyway.

2. Do you like ranch houses? I’ve never been in one, so I wouldn’t know 🙂

3. Do you prefer veggies or fruit? FRUIT! Veggies are ok, but fruit such as strawberries, mangoes, and jackfruit are amazing.

4.   Prefer cats or dogs? Dogs for the win. I have a dog- a Rhodesian Ridgeback named Mounty.

5.  Prefer Pink or purple. Probably purple, because it’s a royal color.

6. Have you ever been at attacked by a dog? Yes, once. I accidentally threw a football too far, and this dumb dog came and started shredding it (it was leather). When I grabbed it from him, he bit my finger and basically shredded it. I still have scars.

7.Do you prefer Pepsi or Coke? Coke. Pepsi seems to sweet, which is rather ironic, considering they both have tons of sugar.

8. Do you like roller coasters? Yes, but not as much as my dad and siblings: they adore Space Mountain in Disney World.

9. Do you like ice cream or Cake? Cake, because I am lactose intolerant, and as such cannot eat much ice cream.

10. Do you play the Piano? Yep! I had lessons for about three years before my teacher moved back to the USA.

11. Are you homeschooled? Happily! I have been homeschooled every year of school, save for 5th grade, which I did at a Christian school in West Virginia.

Alright, that’s that. Now, here are my questions.

  1. Predestination or Free Will?
  2. How long have you been a Christian?
  3. What is your favorite type of smoothie?
  4. McDonald’s or Wendy’s?
  5. Do you follow sports? If so, what sport and what professional team?
  6. The NBA Finals have been going on. Do you have any opinions on this?
  7. What is your favorite thing about your way of schooling (homeschooling or real schooling)?
  8. Do you think soda rots your brain?
  9. What is your favorite chapter of the Bible?
  10. What is your favorite book?
  11. If you could live in one country for a week, what would it be?

Now, I don’t think I’ll be able to nominate 11 people, but I’ll do my best to nominate as many as I can.
