Today we have not one, not two, but three awards to take care of! I have been double-nominated for the Outstanding Blogger award, an award I had not yet been nominated for, and single-nominated for the Thirteenth Disciple Tag.
Thank you so much, SonoofYHWH and MakaylaLife for the two Outstanding Blogger awards, and my brother Jesusluvsall for the Thirteenth Disciple tag! If you guys aren’t already following their blogs, make sure to do so by clicking on their names!
The Kennedy Award of Excellence is a registered award of excellence for blogs through its writing, presentation and objectives. It fosters human values; promoting intellectual, emotional and moral growth of peers.
Thank you so much to my brother from Jesusluvsall for the nomination! I haven’t done an award in a while (in fact, I tend to avoid them), but I liked the unique features that set the Kennedy Award apart from the others.
With that, make sure to check out his blog by clicking here, he regularly publishes quality, encouraging content, and I highly encourage you to subscribe to his website!
So, without further ado, let’s get into the award!
Alright, and we are back with another award- our fourth Liebster award! Thank you so much to Debby from DebbySEO for this nomination. While I usually don’t participate in awards I’ve already received, I seriously liked the way she’s changed it to make it more special, and so here we go.
The rules are simple:
Thank the blogger(s) who nominated you and provide a link to their website.
Use the same Award image as your nominator.
Share 11 facts about yourself & mention 3 blog articles
Answer the 11 questions the blogger(s) asked you
Nominate 11 bloggers and make them happy!
Make up 11 questions to ask your nominees
Notify your 11 nominees
11 facts about me
I have 5 siblings.
My dad is a pastor.
I am extremely addicted to coffee
My favorite book series is Lord of the Rings.
I am extremely bad at math.
I have swam in Loch Ness (Scotland).
My favorite movie, besides Lord of the Rings, is Avengers: Endgame.
1) What is in your opinion the best SEO software currently on the market? If you haven’t used SEO software, how informed are you about SEO services and software? Likely Moz.com’s features or Ubersuggest. I have used both and they are fantastic for learning about SEO. The best paid software, however, is the “Yoast SEO” plugin.
2) If you could eat as much food as you wanted without ever getting full or fat, which food would you choose? What is your favorite restaurant? American food, because there’s a lot of variety. My favorite American restaurant is Wendy’s or Cracker Barrel.
3) If your pet could talk, what would it say to you? She’d probably say, “why did you never want to be my friend?” I dislike guinea pigs, so I don’t usually pet them.
4) What is the weirdest thing you have ever seen someone do? I once saw a random girl dancing….innapropriately in front of a crowd of five-year-old children for a fundraiser in Uganda.
5) If you had enough money that you never needed to work again, what would you do with your time? Probably spend most of it playing basketball, although reading is also tempting.
6) Name three of your favorite songs. “Armies” by KB, “Paid My Dues” by NF, and “Set Me Free” by Lecrae.
7) Name three of your favorite books. “Lord of the Rings”, “Ender’s Game”, and “Sherlock Holmes”.
8) Would you lie to your friend or spouse for a large sum of money? How much? Absolutely not. As a Christian, I am called to be honest at all times.
9) If you had $10,000 to spend on whatever you like, what would you do with the money? I’d donate $2,000 to my ministry, New Hope Uganda, and invest the rest to use when I go to college next year.
10) If you would be granted one wish of any kind, what would you wish for? Assuming I couldn’t wish for unlimited wishes, I’d ask for the greatest, most complete guide to women’s minds. With that, I’d teach men and would eventually rule the world.
11) Who has been the biggest example in your life? Why? My dad, without a doubt. He has a massive impact on my life, from the way he has taught me to the example he sets.
My 11 questions for my nominees:
1: Who’s your favorite actor/actress?
2: Do you work out? If so, describe what you do.
3: What’s your favorite dessert?
4: If you geeked out about something, what would it be?
5: What are your thoughts on the COVID-19 breakout?
6: Is social media beneficial or harmful to a teenager?
7: What is the most views you’ve had in a day (on your blog)?
8: Do you have a hobby?
9: Recall a childhood memory.
10: What high-school subject would you gladly re-take if given the chance (anad time)?
11: Favorite animal?
Sadly, since I have very little time, I can’t nominate specific people. If you would, however, like to do this EPIC award, I nominate you! You, my reader, are nominated (I know, it’s a lazy thing to do, but I don’t have the time to hunt down 11 people). Go forth and complete the award!
Alright, that’s all for today. Thanks so much for reading, and thanks to Debby for the nomination! Guys, if you enjoyed this post, make sure to click that Follow button below (or to the side). Then, when I release new posts like this on, you’ll get notified. Thanks again, and I hope you have a great day!
Hey, another award, and this time, it’s a new one! Thanks to my good blogger friend (and supporter) Joshua Swanson for the nomination. Joshua, you’re awesome, and I love reading your blog. Your posts are always so encouraging! Guys, if you aren’t following his blog, I encourage you to do so! You can do that by clicking here.
This is something I’m going to be doing monthly for new bloggers that show serious promise. Honestly, I wish someone had done this for me. If I had had a full-on mentor that could have taken me under his wing and showed me how this blogger thing worked, that would have been epic.
Now, don’t get me wrong. Without Ariana Evans and a few others (Keziah, WPBeginner, etc.), I would be a much worse blogger than I am now. But, if a full-on, dedicated mentor had helped me, that would have been even better.
So, in order to remedy that, I am willing to help anybody that asks. Obviously, I can’t volunteer myself for the job, but if any new bloggers need help, don’t hesitate to ask!
Alrighty, Africa Boy is back with another award, and it’s one of my own invention- the Food Award! Lydia, thanks so much for the nomination! Guys, if you haven’t already, be sure to check out her epic blog here.
The first three are done, so now we move on to the questions. Here are Lydia’s questions, and my answers directly after them.
What’s a food that you really dislike? Hmm, probably raw tomatoes. Honestly, they’re rather squishy and strange.
What’s your favorite meat? Beef! I mean, steak!!!
Do you prefer fruits or vegetables? Absolutely fruits all day, especially jackfruit or watermelon.
Would you rather eat at Waffle House or Chick-fil-a? Chick-fil-a. They have a much higher track record of listening to my instructions pertaining to my lactose intolerance.
Spaghetti or lasagna? Spaghetti, because I’m lactose intolerant, so lasagna wouldn’t be very good.
Ok, now I need to ask five questions.
What’s your favorite breakfast food?
Eggs and bacon or pancakes?
If your birthday was today, what would you ask your mom/spouse/sibling to make for you?
What’s one food you haven’t eaten but really want to try?
If vegetarians are trying to save the animals, then why are they eating their food?
Alright, that’s all for today. Guys, have fun. As always, thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoyed this strange post. If you haven’t already, be sure to click that Follow button, so as to not miss out on any new posts. Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Hey guys! Today, we have another award- my second Behind the Blogger award! Thank you so much, Kenechi Duatron, for the nomination! Guys, make sure to check out her awesome blog here. Here are the rules:
Nominate 5+ bloggers you’d like to know more about, to do this tag
Alright, now to answer the questions.
Why did you start blogging and why have you kept blogging? I started blogging for a couple of reasons. I loved writing, and I wanted to share some of my experiences with the world. I also have a lot of family members, and I wanted to find a way to communicate with them. I’ve kept blogging because I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it!
What is your favorite type of blog post to write? Definitely my stories. Those are so much fun to share, and I get really excited as I write about past experiences.
Hello again! Today, we have another award, and it’s another new one! This time, it’s the Barnabas Award! Thank you so much to Jesusluvsall, who’s blog can be found here. The rules are as follows.
Thank the person that nominated you and give the link to their blog.
List 5 things about yourself.
Answer the questions your nominator gave you.
Give 5 new questions for your nominee.
Nominate 5 people.
The first one is already done, so now on to the second.
I have bad back problems.
I follow the NFL and NBA (Bears and Bulls, respectively)
I love reading
I love basketball
Cheese-free pizza is amazing
Alrighty, that’s done. Now to answer the questions. My answers are in bold.
Why is the sky blue? I don’t have enough brainpower to answer that. 🙂
Do you like to iron clothes? Nope!
What makes a duck quack? A need to express itself.
What makes you happy? A clear sky.
What legacy do you want to leave behind? One that showes God’s glory.
What is your favorite artistic form of expression? Writing!
Now, here are my questions.
How tall are you?
What’s your favorite book?
How do you find release?
What’s your favorite movie?
What person in your life has influenced you the most?
Now, since I’ve nominated a lot of people recently (and I’m going to nominate a bunch tomorrow since I have another nomination to do), I’m just going to do one.
Hey! We’re back again with another award! This time, it’s a new one- the Random Acts of Kindness Award. Sounds like fun, right? Thank you so much, Keziah E, for nominating me! Your blog is so much fun to read, and I absolutely love your writing!
Anyway, here are the rules.
Copy and share the picture that shows the award, posted above.
Share a paragraph of something that impacted your own life by giving or receiving kindness.
Nominate anyone or share to your own page, if you so choose to participate. Tag or pingback to the original person who nominated you, or the original post.
Tell who you nominated and why.
I took the liberty of changing the grammatical structure of the rules, so as to make them more understandable.
To be honest, though, it’s really hard to pinpoint a key moment of kindness in my life. There have been many, and thinking of one big, specific one is hard. As it is, I’ll tell the one that comes to mind.
It was November of 2016, and TobyMac had come to Charleston, West Virginia. My family was on furlough, and we were staying at our house in Saint Albans, West Virginia, about 15 minutes from Charleston. When TobyMac announced that he would be coming in November, my brother Noah and I grew excited. None of the artists that we liked ever came through WV- it was a small state and thus ignored (I’m looking at you, Lecrae! I’ve bought tickets to your concerts in Uganda, and you canceled! And you’ve never gone through Charleston!) So, we began saving our money, ready to buy the tickets.
Eventually, we purchased the required tickets. The night of the concert began, and we arrived with only one minor hiccup (my jeans tore straight down in the front, but that’s a story for another time). A half-hour later, we were bobbing our head to Capital Kings and Mandisa. Then, during a lull in the performance, I turned around to examine my surroundings. An older man, probably between 50 and 60 years old, was seating himself behind me, carrying three Coca-Cola’s. Now, I, being the joking Ugandan-American that I am, grinned and asked, “Hey! Where’s mine?” Now, keep in mind that I had absolutely no clue who this guy was. For all I knew, this guy could have drugged the Coke’s and was trying to enslave the minds of the youngsters around him. But, having grown up in a culture that freely shares everything (and jokes about sharing even when you know you won’t be shared with), I just went with it.
Now, this guy could have totally laughed it off, or told me to shut up and turn around (neither would have surprised me). But instead, he just smiled at me and laughed a little. I thought the joke was done, so I turned around in my seat to wait for TobyMac to come on. Then, five minutes later, I felt someone tap my shoulder. The man had gone back to the snack bar, purchased two cold Coke’s, and was holding them out to me and my brother.
By this point, you’re probably screaming “STRANGER DANGER, YOU IDIOT!” Yeah, well, I didn’t grow up in the USA. Yes, I accept Coke’s from strangers. No, there were no drugs in them. No, the guy did not ask for my email or do something creepy.
He just wanted to share. This dude, whom I had never met in my life, just decided to buy two drinks for the grinning, tan teenager a row ahead of him. Thinking back on it, I’ve realized that maybe there is some hope for America. If its people buy kids free Coke’s, then God Bless America!
Alright, that’s it. Sorry, but that was a little longer than a paragraph. I hope you enjoyed the story, and aren’t too offended by my lack of common sense. Anyway, I only want to nominate one person (I’ve nominated a lot of people recently, so I need to stop bugging them). I am honestly curious as to how she answers this nomination.
Thus, I nominate Ariana Evans, my blogging best friend. It’ll be interesting to see her do this.
Anyway, thanks for reading, guys! I hope you have a wonderful day!
Hey! We’re back with another award, and this time, it’s a new one- the Blogger Recognition Award. Thank you so much, Ariana (my blogging best friend), for nominating me. Guys, if you haven’t already, make sure to check out her blog here, with the original nomination here.
Alrighty, that’s done. Now, here are the rules, per usual.
Thank the nominator, and publish a post on your blog about receiving the Blogger Recognition Award. Make sure to provide a link to the nominator’s blog in your post.
Give a brief story of how your blog started.
Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
Nominate 5-15 other bloggers for this award, and inform them of their nomination.
The Creation of Africa Boy
I first started blogging on my dad’s old blog. He had this section on it called the McFarland Kids Creative Place, and on that, I could blog. My first ever post (published November 4th, 2015. You can find it here), was a poem I had written about snow. Eventually, I grew to dislike blogging on a website that was not my own, so I used my email and created my own blog, found here. The Elisha McFarland blog still exists, and I update it regularly. After a year of blogging on that website, I was told by a friend that the Blogspot websites aren’t nearly as cool (or accessible) as the WordPress website. Thus was born Africa Boy.
Advice
Now, here are my two pieces of advice. 1: Blog consistently (sorry, Ariana, but I copied you). 2: Don’t be afraid to market; in other words, don’t be scared of telling people about your blog.
We are back with another award- The Liebster Award! Yep, the same award that I did a few months ago, but this one is different. There are a few new rules, and the order has been changed. Thank you so much to the person that nominated me- Raegan! Be sure to check out her blog here. Anyway, here are the rules.
Thank the blogger(s) who nominated you

If you could live in one country for a week, what would it be?
Now, I don’t think I’ll be able to nominate 11 people, but I’ll do my best to nominate as many as I can.
Holy Guacamole I actually did it. I nominated 11 people. Well, that was epic. Alrighty, everybody, that’s a wrap. Once again, thanks Raegan for the nomination!
Here we are, back to another episode of “Africa Boy Awards”. This award, the Randomness Award, was created by Jesse just a few days ago. Essentially, there are only three rules.
Thank the person who nominated you. THANKS, JESSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Then you gotta answer the questions that the person who nominated you… asked.
Then you must nominate 5 people and ask them 10 questions.

If you knew you were going to die in a week unless you went back in time to prevent it what would you do? I would go back in time and write a hidden message to myself because if I saw myself coming from the past I would think I have gone crazy.
Why do you love to blog? Because it gets a lot of my thoughts on paper (computer?), gets a lot of critique from you guys, and allows me to hear your awesome comments!
And last, do you personally think that video games “rot the brain”? Absolutely not. Video games are a fun past time, as long as they are not abused.
Alright, that was a ton of fun. Thanks so much, Jesse! Guys, make sure to check out his awesome blog here. Alright, now for the nominations and questions.

Hey again! We are back with another award! This time it is… (drumroll please) the Animal Award! Oh, wait, you already knew, because of the title. Oh well.
Anyway, I have been nominated for the Animal Award! Thank you so much to Newblogger20 for nominating me! Make sure to check out her awesome blog here!
Here are the rules:
Thank the blogger who nominated you
Answer the questions given by the person who nominated you
Nominate at least three or more bloggers!
Tell the person that you nominated them!
Come up with fun animal questions!
Get up and pet your animal! (if you have one)
I’ve already done number 1, so now on to number 2!
Animal you’re scared of? Hyenas. Those things are freaky, and, frankly, are rather un-natural.
Animal you love? My dog, a Rhodesian Ridgeback named Mounty.
Animal you want to see in real life? A Golden Eagle. I’ve seen MANY different types of animals, but never a Golden Eagle.
Animal you DO NOT want to see in real life? Again, I’ve seen tons, so answering that is fairly difficult. Honestly, it would probably be a King Cobra, because those things are insanely freaky.
