A Myriad of Awards

A Myriad of Awards

Today we have not one, not two, but three awards to take care of! I have been double-nominated for the Outstanding Blogger award, an award I had not yet been nominated for, and single-nominated for the Thirteenth Disciple Tag.

Thank you so much, SonoofYHWH and MakaylaLife for the two Outstanding Blogger awards, and my brother Jesusluvsall for the Thirteenth Disciple tag! If you guys aren’t already following their blogs, make sure to do so by clicking on their names!

The Bookish Bucket List Tag

Welcome back to another tag, the Bookish Bucket List tag (as you could see from the title)! While I normally don’t participate in awards/tags for the sake of time, I couldn’t resist this newer, interesting, book-focused tag, so here we go!

As usual, the rules:

  • Link to the tag’s creator (Madison’s Inkwell).
  • Link to the person who tagged you.
  • Tag as many people you want (10 people, in my case).
  • Answer the questions asked by your nominator.
  • Create 10 new questions for your nominees.

My thanks to Tobias Hrothgar for the nomination! Tobias has an excellent site and regularly posts unique, intriguing content. Make sure to help his dream of passing me in followers come true by visiting him here.

Tobias’ questions:

  1. Based on an educated guess, how many books do you have, and what is the general genre of most of these books? On both sides of the world? I probably have a total of around 500 books, most being in the fictional literature side.
  2. What are five fiction stories you would highly suggest? Ender’s Game, Lord of the Rings, Pride and Prejudice, Frankenstein, and Les Miserables. These should give you a peek into 5 fictional categories- Sci-fi, fantasy, romance, horror, and historical fiction. Enjoy!
  3. If you were to write any nonfiction story, what would it be? It would likely be my own autobiography.
  4. What are your three favorite authors? Do you mean “Who are your three favorite authors”? (*insert laughing emoji) In order of respect, love, and admiration combined: J.R.R Tolkien, J.K Rowling, and Suzanne Collins.
  5. If you are a writer, how old were you when you began to write? I was around 11 years old, and my first “story” was a 2-page Biblical fiction about Nebuchadnezzar!
  6. What is your Myers-Briggs personality type? According to 16personalities.com, I am ENFJ-A, “The Diplomat”. My strategy is, quite aptly, “people mastery”.
  7. Describe your favorite character that you’ve written if you’re a writer, or describe what character you would like to write about if you’re not a writer. My favorite fictional character is the man whom I am currently working on: Ronin Tethson, also known as Ronin Shadowwalker. For now, all I can say is that Ronin is a man, a warrior, and a lover; three combinations that create a unique storyline.
  8. What is one of your fondest book-related memories? My most fond memory involving a book would likely be the times that my dad read Lord of the Rings to me as a child. I was trained in the greatest books of all time from an early age!
  9. If you could choose any one fictional location to visit, where would that be? Likely the Shire. Then, I could finally try the legendary beer of the South Farthing.
  10. If you could visit any day in time, where would that be? I would probably visit the day of Jesus’ birth, so I could witness arguably the greatest moment in history!

My questions:

1: Who are, in your opinion, the ten greatest writers in history?

2: Have you written a book? If so, describe it in under 140 characters.

3: If you stand up from your desk, close your eyes, spin around three times, then open your eyes again, what is the first book you see?

4: What was the worst book you have ever read (mine was probably The Great Gatsby)?

5: Are you currently working on a book?

6: Who is your favorite modern-day writer?

7: Do you have a specific place for your reading? If so, describe it.

8: Are Kindle EBooks superior to printed books?

9: If I published a book on Amazon Self-Publishing, would you read it?

10: Who is, in your opinion, the most underrated author currently writing today?

Bonus questions from Rachel’s Food Award nomination:

Have you ever pulled a prank on someone involving food? Besides the classic prank of putting hot spice in people’s food? Nope!

What is a food you absolutely hate? Sweet potatoes. I know, I’m weird, but they’re squishy, a strange color, and they taste like garbage!

What is a food you can’t live without? Probably eggs. I eat eggs for breakfast almost every morning.

Ever cooked a combo dish? I have literally no idea what that means, so I’d assume no.

Would you consider a career as a cook in a restaurant? Probably not, but I think my little brother Noah could.

My nominees:

Everyone! Since there are two awards here, and I follow a lot of bloggers, feel free to select any of these awards! Honestly, just pretend I personally nominated you. In fact, if you’d like, just leave a comment asking for a nomination, and I will respond with an official “I nominate you” comment.

In the meantime, thank you so much for reading, and I hope you enjoyed my little Q&A!

The Kennedy Award of Excellence

The Kennedy Award of Excellence

The Kennedy Award of Excellence is a registered award of excellence for blogs through its writing, presentation and objectives. It fosters human values; promoting intellectual, emotional and moral growth of peers.

Thank you so much to my brother from Jesusluvsall for the nomination! I haven’t done an award in a while (in fact, I tend to avoid them), but I liked the unique features that set the Kennedy Award apart from the others.

With that, make sure to check out his blog by clicking here, he regularly publishes quality, encouraging content, and I highly encourage you to subscribe to his website!

So, without further ado, let’s get into the award!

The Liebster Award 4.0

Liebster Award

Alright, and we are back with another award- our fourth Liebster award! Thank you so much to Debby from DebbySEO for this nomination. While I usually don’t participate in awards I’ve already received, I seriously liked the way she’s changed it to make it more special, and so here we go.

The rules are simple:

  1. Thank the blogger(s) who nominated you and provide a link to their website.
  2. Use the same Award image as your nominator.
  3. Share 11 facts about yourself & mention 3 blog articles
  4. Answer the 11 questions the blogger(s) asked you
  5. Nominate 11 bloggers and make them happy!
  6. Make up 11 questions to ask your nominees
  7. Notify your 11 nominees

11 facts about me

  1. I have 5 siblings.
  2. My dad is a pastor.
  3. I am extremely addicted to coffee
  4. My favorite book series is Lord of the Rings.
  5. I am extremely bad at math.
  6. I have swam in Loch Ness (Scotland).
  7. My favorite movie, besides Lord of the Rings, is Avengers: Endgame.
  8. My favorite subject is (surprise) writing.
  9. My favorite American food is pizza.
  10. I have 26 cousins
  11. I have been blogging for four years.

Three best articles

  1. What The Holiness of God Taught Us About Speech
  2. Overcoming Differences Within the Church
  3. The Unbelievable Story of My Escape from Uganda

Answers to Debby’s questions

1) What is in your opinion the best SEO software currently on the market? If you haven’t used SEO software, how informed are you about SEO services and software? Likely Moz.com’s features or Ubersuggest. I have used both and they are fantastic for learning about SEO. The best paid software, however, is the “Yoast SEO” plugin.

2) If you could eat as much food as you wanted without ever getting full or fat, which food would you choose? What is your favorite restaurant? American food, because there’s a lot of variety. My favorite American restaurant is Wendy’s or Cracker Barrel.

3) If your pet could talk, what would it say to you? She’d probably say, “why did you never want to be my friend?” I dislike guinea pigs, so I don’t usually pet them.

4) What is the weirdest thing you have ever seen someone do? I once saw a random girl dancing….innapropriately in front of a crowd of five-year-old children for a fundraiser in Uganda.

5) If you had enough money that you never needed to work again, what would you do with your time? Probably spend most of it playing basketball, although reading is also tempting.

6) Name three of your favorite songs. “Armies” by KB, “Paid My Dues” by NF, and “Set Me Free” by Lecrae.

7) Name three of your favorite books. “Lord of the Rings”, “Ender’s Game”, and “Sherlock Holmes”.

8) Would you lie to your friend or spouse for a large sum of money? How much? Absolutely not. As a Christian, I am called to be honest at all times.

9) If you had $10,000 to spend on whatever you like, what would you do with the money? I’d donate $2,000 to my ministry, New Hope Uganda, and invest the rest to use when I go to college next year.

10) If you would be granted one wish of any kind, what would you wish for? Assuming I couldn’t wish for unlimited wishes, I’d ask for the greatest, most complete guide to women’s minds. With that, I’d teach men and would eventually rule the world.

11) Who has been the biggest example in your life? Why? My dad, without a doubt. He has a massive impact on my life, from the way he has taught me to the example he sets.

My 11 questions for my nominees:

1: Who’s your favorite actor/actress?

2: Do you work out? If so, describe what you do.

3: What’s your favorite dessert?

4: If you geeked out about something, what would it be?

5: What are your thoughts on the COVID-19 breakout?

6: Is social media beneficial or harmful to a teenager?

7: What is the most views you’ve had in a day (on your blog)?

8: Do you have a hobby?

9: Recall a childhood memory.

10: What high-school subject would you gladly re-take if given the chance (anad time)?

11: Favorite animal?

Sadly, since I have very little time, I can’t nominate specific people. If you would, however, like to do this EPIC award, I nominate you! You, my reader, are nominated (I know, it’s a lazy thing to do, but I don’t have the time to hunt down 11 people). Go forth and complete the award!

Alright, that’s all for today. Thanks so much for reading, and thanks to Debby for the nomination! Guys, if you enjoyed this post, make sure to click that Follow button below (or to the side). Then, when I release new posts like this on, you’ll get notified. Thanks again, and I hope you have a great day!

Mystery Blogger Award 3.0

mystery blogger award image

And we are back with yet another nomination, my third in this category! My thanks to Keziah for nominating me for the Mystery Blogger Award. Guys, Keziah is a fantastic blogger, and her posts are extremely encouraging to Christian teenagers like me. Make sure to check out her blog (and give her a follow) by clicking here.

Here are the rules:

  • Put the award logo/ image on your blog.
  • List the rules.
  • Thank whoever nominated you, and put a link to their blog.
  • Mention the creator of the award and provide a link as well.
  • Tell your readers 3 things about yourself.
  • Answer the questions provided by whoever nominated you.
  • Nominate 10-20 bloggers.
  • Notify your nominees by commenting on their blog.
  • Ask your nominees any 5 questions of your choice: with one weird or funny question.
  • Share a link to your best post.

This award was created by Okoto Enigma.

Three things about myself:

1: I am an extreme extrovert, I like nothing better then talking with people.

2: I am lactose intolerant, so no ice cream.

3: My birthday is May 27th.

Now, we turn to the questions. My answers are in italics.

  1. What is the craziest thing you have ever done (or one of them)? Probably jumping three stories off a diving board, turning 360 degrees in the air, and landing with just enough time to tuck my toes.
  2. Are you reading any book right now and if so, what book? Yes, I’m reading “The Pursuit of God” by A.W Tozer.
  3. What is your favorite thing to write about? I enjoy writing in general, but I particularly like writing about subjects such as dating, Christianity, and SEO.
  4. What is your opinion on this whole coronavirus thing? Opinion? Not much of an opinion needed, everybody can see it’s rather serious. In fact, I’ve already written about it in this post.
  5. Would you rather explore the bottom of the sea, or the vast amount of celestial space? Probably celestial space, since there’s a LOT more to explore then on the bottom of the sea.

I believe this is my best post: What The Holiness of God Taught Us About Speech

Finally, here are my questions.

  1. Coffee, tea, or neither?
  2. Do you follow or play any sports?
  3. How would you describe your personality?
  4. If you could eat any food right now, what would it be?
  5. Describe your best friend or role model.

Alright, that’s all for today. Since I am unable to nominate specific people (my internet is being funky), I nominate you, my reader! With this, you get free content! You’re welcome.

Anyway, thanks again to Keziah for the nomination. Keziah, you’re awesome. And you, my readers, are awesome too. If you aren’t a regular reader or you’re new to this website, feel free to click that Follow button below (or to the side). That way, you won’t miss out on any new posts. Two Awards- Sunshine Blogger 3.0 and Mystery Blogger 2.0

Award Winner medal

Let’s take a break from throwbacks. Today’s the last day of February, so let’s have a bit of fun. I have recently received two award nominations, the Sunshine Blogger Award (my third) and the Mystery Blogger award. Now, usually, I don’t often participate in these awards, given that my posting schedule is fairly filled, but I decided that today was an exception. And so, without further ado, let’s jump right into our awards for the day and the questions they post.

Christian Blog Launch: Destination Ghana

Africa Boy

After several days of work, I am very pleased to announce the launching of a new Christian blog- Destination: Ghana. Created and owned by a friend of mine, Ian Nelson. His big sister is a schoolmate of mine, and so, as a favor to both of them, I helped create the site in preparation for his launch. Now, finally, he is ready to go!

1 Grateful Person Tag

Praise

I was tagged for this entirely original award by Jesusluvsall. Thanks, brother! I seriously appreciate it! Guys, if you haven’t read his outstanding blog, be sure to do so, as it can be found here.

This tag is based on Luke 19, the tale of the ten lepers. In the story, Jesus heals ten men with leprosy, a terrible disease that removes your capacity for pain reception. Sadly, only one of the ten healed men came back to thank Jesus, and it is after this man that we aspire. Let’s be like the one leper, a man who’s gratefulness won over his joy.

Here are the rules.

1: Use any picture in your post that expresses gratitude

2: Pingback to the original post at 1 Grateful Person

3. Share the intro

4: Share what you are grateful to Jesus for

5: Share a passage from the bible about gratitude that means something to you.

6: Tag anybody

With that said, let’s get right to it.

I am extremely grateful to Jesus for allowing me to live in such an awesome place. His gift to me, in having me raised in Uganda, has changed my life, and I am someone entirely different from who I might have been, had God chosen to raise me in the United States.

I have relationships I would never have had. I have parents that walk deeply in the Lord. I have siblings that are very similar to me. I have an opportunity to play sports and share my testimony through basketball. All of these and many more are the results of my Jesus choosing to raise me in Uganda. He has made me the Africa Boy.

Romans 8:28 also describes the negative side of growing up in Uganda.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose.

Even the disadvantages of growing up in Africa work out for my good. The relationships I have left behind, experiences I have missed out on- all working out for the Glory of God.

Because of this, I am a different creation- one shaped and molded by God. Praise Him for His mighty work!

With that said, let’s continue to my tags.

Ariana

Lydia Potter

Keziah

Those are the three that I would specifically like to see do this, but if you’re reading and you would like to do this tag, go for it! You are officially nominated!

Anyway, thanks so much for reading, guys. Your support means a ton to me. Currently, we are 20% of the way to 1,000 followers, our next major milestone. If you’d like to join this journey, be sure to click that Follow button below. Now, you’ll never miss out on a new post!

Once again, thanks for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful day.

October “What Kind of Pumpkin Are You” Tag

Pumpkin Coffee

Thanks so much to Jesusluvsall for this nomination. He currently holds the record for giving me the newest nominations (come on, y’all. You need to give me some new ones), and so I got really excited when I saw this one. After all, Halloween is in the air and writing about pumpkins is tons of fun! So, without any further ado, let’s get started!

The Future Goals Award

FUTURE GOALS AWARD.png

Another award, created by myself! Hopefully, you guys will enjoy it as it gives you the opportunity to share your blog’s goals. Not only can you share a fun, lively goal, but you can also request others to do the same through tagging them! Alright, here are the rules (because everything fun has to have rules, am I right?).

  • Pingback to the creator, Elisha at http://www.africaboy.home.blog
  • Use the same Graphic as your nominee did (as seen above).
  • Share five goals for your blog.
  • Share five goals for your life.
  • Nominate at least five people.

Alright, here goes. Five goals for my blog.

  1. In one year, I’d like to be over 1,000 followers. It seems impossible, but I’m releasing new, quality content every week so we’ll see what happens.
  2. In one year, I’d like to be publishing 1,000+ word posts in every post.
  3. In two years, I’d like to have enough followers to enable WordAds, thus making me a little money for college.
  4. Even now, I’d like to be impacting people and confronting cultural walls, showing the depth of our sin and revealing God. I’d like to bridge the gap between two worlds, Africa and America, in the ways that God has called me. I would like to educate, through stories and experiences, the people of the East about life in Africa.
  5. In one year, I’d like to be posting on higher-level blogging websites such as The Gospel Coalition or at least continuing to post on The Reb.

Now, five goals for my life.

  1. I would like to impact everybody that I meet, showing the Kingdom of God and causing people to ask, “Why do you believe what you believe?” I refuse to become Josh Harris, who turned away from his faith and renounced Christianity.
  2. I would like to be a good writer, impacting many through my work.
  3. I would like to be married and have between 2 and 5 kids. 1 kid is too few, and more than 5 is too many.
  4. I would like to be coaching basketball, hopefully bringing athletes to Jesus through sports.
  5. I would like to be mature and strong in my Faith.

Alright, that’s done. Now, to start, we’ll nominate five people that hopefully don’t mind.

  1. Jesusluvsall. Sorry, man. I know you just did an award, but hopefully, you won’t mind.
  2. Ariana Evans. This will give you something to write about.
  3. Robert. I know you love awards, so here’s a new one!
  4. Angela G.
  5. Elijah Holston. I know you don’t blog about this stuff often, but hopefully, you can take a break from filming epic movies and write about your blog 🙂

Guys, if you are reading this and you would like to compete, feel free to do so! You are always welcome to steal an award from me. Just let me know in the comment section below if you intend to use this.

Alright, that’s all for today. Thanks so much for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful day! If you haven’t already, be sure to click that Follow button below, so as to not miss out on any new posts. Thanks again, and I hope you have a wonderful day!
