400 Followers Celebration!

And we are back yet again with another massive milestone- 400 followers. Guys, you are crazy awesome. Hardly over a month ago, we hit our 300 follower milestone after two months of publishing. While this was a rewarding experience, I couldn’t help but notice the fact that it only took two months to reach 300. Previously, it had taken 3 or even 4 months to garner an additional 100 followers. Last time, it was a new record. And here, yet again, we have set a record of 100 more followers in just over a month.

What on earth is next? Are we going to get 100 in a week? I feel so honored to even know that there are 400 people who enjoy reading my post. You guys are fantastic. Give yourselves a handclap.

Now, a couple of interesting updates. As I mentioned in the 300 Followers Post, found by clicking here, Africa Boy will be undergoing some change in the future. Part of this change will involve changing the name of the website. While the name is unique and interesting, I can’t continue writing under it for the next five years. I turn 18 next year, making me legally an adult and thus making me the “Africa Man”. However, I’ve hit a brief roadblock- I can’t think of a name for the website. My fallback plan includes simply my name- Elisha McFarland. An example of this would be wwww.elishamcfarland.com. However, I feel that the name of a blog being the name of its writer is rather redundant, and I would like to have a legitimate name. Because of this, I’d like to turn to you, my readers. Do you have any name suggestions? Put them in the comment section below, and if you come up with a really good name, there’s a chance I might actually use it. And, of course, if you have a blog, I’ll make sure to give you a backlink as my thanks (trust me, backlinks are great gifts). I’m open to suggestions!

A couple of names that have been discussed are Modern Christianity, Everyday Evangelist, and The Art of Christianity. I didn’t really like the last one as much, since I felt like it seemed rather prideful, but these were all good names. Tell me what you think!

One final announcement- It is with great joy that I announce the publication date of a forerunner book, the first of its kind. The Full Guide to the WordPress Free Plan, published by yours truly, will be released on August 1st, 2020. You, my followers, will receive updates and even free copies over the next few months, so be sure to keep an eye out for my emails, especially if you are part of my Premium plan.

        The only thing I could think of was “African Adventures,” but that’s kinda cheesy XD Maybe something like “African Christianity”? Naming things is not my strong suit XD

      2. That’s true. I just didn’t know since it will be harder to change everything, I changed my URL a while back and I lost a a few followers. But it’s probably better if you do considering the SEO advantages of it. 😀

      5. Right, and I built most of those in just a few months, so it’s not a huge deal. I think the total I have is 59 but only a few of those are still referring, and I also think there’s a way to set up a referral so they still refer traffic back to the site.

      7. Ubersuggest isn’t accurate when it comes to measuring small website’s traffic and backlinks, but Neil Patel is working on that. To get an accurate portrayal of your backlinks in full, use either Google Search Console or MozBar- both show full, accurate results. Using that, I can tell you that you have 1 referring backlink (meaning a still-referring one, active), a PA of 7, and a DA of 2. If you want me to, I’d be more than happy to help you work on that!

      8. Ah, I see. Yeah I think it only does ones with a actual .com URL not a wordpress.com or .home.blog. Yeah, I have GSC, but I don’t know how to use it very well. That would be super helpful! Thanks, Elisha!

  10. 400 followers already?!?! That’s quite an accomplish, Elisha! Congratulations!! Two ideas I thought of for a possible name is “The Christian Perspective” or “Proclaiming Truth”. Anyway, congratulations again! 🎉

    Congrats!! Maybe something like, “Christ, Coffee, and Choas,” would fit what you are looking for. Although, “Chaos,” could probably be taken a lot of ways it was not intended to be, so maybe not. I was thinking of chaos as in the chaos of a busy life, but it could be taken to mean Christ causes chaos, which would be bad, so scratch that. But you might be able to build off of it if you wanted to. I look forward to the next post and to hear what you decide to be your new name!
